NTH - The Company

NTH Watches were founded in 2016 on a simple guiding principle – to sell a good product at a fair price and back it up with outstanding service. NTH is about taking vintage inspiration and infusing it with fresh ideas, so you can think of it as either; “N-T-H” for “Nod to History”, or “enth” for taking things to the Nth degree. Shown above are just a small selection of NTH’s current model line up. (I’ll hopefully get the NTH Odin in for review soon – hint, hint.)

The Case

The case of the NTH Holland is 40.4mm. The lug to lug is 47.9mm and the overall thickness, including the sapphire crystal I measured at a very impressive 11.4mm. The entire case, bezel, caseback, crown and bracelet are all 316L stainless steel. The NTH Holland also has a water resistance rating of 300m / 30 ATM, thanks to the screw-down caseback & crown, so it won’t look out of place no matter what you’re wearing whether it be a dinner, wet or even your birthday suit. Whatever floats your boat really. 😛

The finish of the case is brushed with polished chamfered edges along the sides and the downward curved lugs. The proportions are, in my opinion, spot on! Not too big, not too small and will fit the majority of wrist sizes. Regarding the crown, it is also fully lumed too which although isn’t necessary, it’s a great touch that I’ve only seen previously on Zelos watches. Absolutely no corners have been cut with the NTH Holland. The fit & finish is outstanding!

Bracelet

The bracelet of the NTH Holland is very nicely made and has all the features that all us watch enthusiasts love. Solid end links, screw pins for resizing, milled clasp that is also signed with the NTH logo. Additionally, the clasp has chamfered edges but no polished accents which I thought was weird considering the chamfered polished accents of the case. Anyway, the links are all brushed and the milled clasp has a fold-over locking mechanism as well as the twin push-button release on the sides. There are also six micro-adjustment holes to ensure a perfect fit. A bracelet done right! Woo Hoo.

Movement

The chosen movement for the NTH Holland is the smooth sweep, high beat, ultra-reliable Miyota 9015. The 9015 is a slim Japanese made 28,800vph, 24 jewel movement regularly compared to the Swiss made ETA 2824-2. Checking the accuracy after running the NTH Holland for a few days, mainly on my wrist and occasionally in my Barrington Watch Winder, I was extremely pleased with the results with it showing an average of +3.8spd.

Dial & Bezel

The NTH Holland has a 120 click unidirectional bezel with a fully lumed steel insert. It is of excellent quality and everything lines up perfectly. The bezel action is fantastic with zero backplay. The colour of the insert is like a really dark brown but in some lights there is a hint of purple about it. Different!

The dial has very neatly applied indices with a silver border around each of them, all of which are pumped full of lume. The logo and text on the dial are nicely printed and very legible. The hour and minute hands are a little thin in my opinion. I feel they could be a bit more beefy to match the proportions of the rest of the watch. Maybe that’s just me, you might think they’re perfect.

I do like the seconds hand though, with its fully lumed lollipop style that reaches out all the way to the minute track. The best part of the watch though, in my opinion, has to be that ice blue colour that’s on the dial, it’s just gorgeous! Ice blue? Pastel blue? Either way, I call it ice blue.

Conclusion

The NTH Holland is one of the nicest watches I’ve had the pleasure of wearing on my wrist. The build quality and overall fit & finish is outstanding and not just for the price point, I would be happy if this fit & finish was applied to a £1,000+ watch.

This has been my first experience of NTH Watches and I have to say I’m very impressed and now definitely a fan. These days, there are a ton of microbrands pumping out new models and it’s getting more difficult to find the cream of the crop.

I can honestly say that NTH are now easily in my top 5 list of microbrands. Don’t get me wrong, The NTH Holland isn’t perfect, I don’t think that any watch is, in my opinion. BUT, holy sh*t! NTH are just a fraction away from manufacturing 100%, exquisite, wrist candy perfection.

NTH & SeriousWatches – Fantastic Job! The NTH Holland is, without question, The Aston Martin of the Microbrand World!
9/10
9/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A huge thank you to Kaj from SeriousWatches for sending out the NTH Holland so promptly. Another watch that I will be totally gutted to send back.
